Taking action on smoking and health
Where we aim to make a difference
During 2015-2018 ASH Scotland will work to ensure the foundations are in place for Scotland to achieve a generation free from tobacco by 2034. Over this period we will work to achieve these aims:1. more young people will have chosen to remain free from tobacco
ASH Scotland will work to achieve that:
2. more people of all ages will live their lives free from second-hand tobacco smoke
3. more people will have stopped smoking, particularly from deprived communities and equalities groups
4. there will be greater public support for a tobacco-free generation
5. ASH Scotland will effectively drive wider action on smoking and health
We will help to develop and communicate the best available evidence to inform and influence conversations on tobacco, health and society.
We will create and strengthen local, national and international partnerships to support effective action on tobacco and health.
We will work with community interests to foster an environment in which we can address tobacco and inequality.
We will work to create an environment in which young people can make positive choices about tobacco.
We will monitor Scotland’s journey towards a generation free from tobacco by 2034 and engage stakeholders across our society to ensure progress remains on track.
We will implement a robust monitoring and evaluation system to demonstrate the impact of our work.
We will maintain and strengthen mutually beneficial relationships with our long-term partners.
We will develop innovative projects, with clear health and social impacts, enabling us to develop partnerships with new funders.
We will increase our supporter donations and earned income from events and commissioned work.
