Seminars and events

A key strand of the local tobacco control alliance project was providing the opportunity for those working in all areas of tobacco control to come together and share learning. One of the ways in which this has been achieved is through organising regional seminars and events.

The programme included regional events held between September 2007 and May 2008 aimed at bringing people together in order to explore the possibility of alliance working; regional Tobacco Control Learning Days held between December 2008 and December 2009, designed to celebrate success, identify challenges and explore solutions and two national events held in August 2010 and February 2011. One to highlight voluntary and community organisations involvement in tobacco related issues and the other to provide a national celebration of local tobacco control alliance work with an eye to future development, support and sharing of better practice.
