Working for a tobacco-free Scotland
You are here: Home » Alliances » Scottish Tobacco Control Alliance (STCA) » STCA topic groups » Tobacco Control Issues Group
The Tobacco Control Issues Group is concerned with providing a national platform for Local Tobacco Control Alliance work, and is the forum for those whose remit includes tobacco-related work in the fields of prevention, enforcement, education, training, cessation service co-ordination and policy development. A major focus is helping to make Alliances more effective, and helping councils and health boards meet local outcome agreements and HEAT targets.
The majority of TCIG meetings will be hosted by a Local Alliance or group of Alliances. They will have a regional flavour, but with speakers invited to talk about national issues or good local practice taking place in other parts of Scotland.
Local Tobacco Control activists are encouraged to bid for a TCIG meeting to be staged in their area, to be used to show case their work or to add value to a local awareness-raising event.
See Events for the date of the next meeting.
