Primary school
- Kids against tobacco smoke (KATS) has an interactive zone with e-cards and a virtual shop from which you can send friends tobacco facts. Also has a good games section. Best section for projects is probably "The facts"
- BBC Newsround smoking quiz
- The British Heart Foundation have a site specially for children called cBHF where you can 'ask Prof' and submit jokes.
Secondary school
- Young Scot provides information on a variety of topics including health, money, relationships, all of Young Scot’s discounts and loads of podcasts too. It your first stop shop for any young person in school
- Tobacco Free Kids links to factsheets on global tobacco control, smuggling, advertising etc
- Tobacco smoking and cancer: the evidence is an excellent Cancer Research UK resource which includes useful numbered references under "How we know"
- World Health Organisation Tobacco Initiative information on the most often used and widely spread tobacco industry myths about smoking bans, and the arguments – based on scientific evidence – to counter them
- The tobacco atlas: shows how tobacco is not just a simple health issue, but involves economics, big business, politics, trade, litigation, deceit and crimes such as smuggling
- The World Bank publication "Curbing the Epidemic" has sections on global trends, risks and tobacco control
Youth action groups/campaigns
- W-WEST (Why Waste Everything Smoking Tobacco?) is Scotland’s first pro-choice smoking information movement, led by young people, for young people. The group has a fun interactive website where young people can learn more, leave messages, see facts about smoking and the tobacco industry, find local smoking cessation support and watch smoking-related videos.
W-WEST are working to raise awareness of how the tobacco industry uses marketing and ‘cool’ packaging to attract young smokers to their brands. The campaign is entitled ’The Plain Truth’ which includes a survey aimed at all young people aged 10 – 17, and in return for completing it, young people are offered the chance to enter a prize draw to win an iPod shuffle, X Box or cinema vouchers. - D-MYST is a smokefree movement led by and for young people in Liverpool. D-MYST provides young people with an opportunity to air their views and concerns on tobacco and to take action to de-normalise and de-glamourise smoking by:
• raising the issue of the dangers of tobacco and exposure to second-hand smoke amongst other young people
• campaigning and promoting smokefree environments for all
• campaigning to get rid of smoking and placement of tobacco products in the media that is predominantly targeted at young people.
• D-MYST’s campaign is pro smokefree, anti-tobacco and not anti-smoker.

- ATYC The Anti Tobacco Youth Campaignis run by young people for young people. It aims to give young people a voice knowledge and skills to campaign about smoking and other tobacco issues so that young people feel equipped to influence the social, political and economic environment and culture which they live in. www.atyc.roycastle.org
