Our Work

ASH Scotland's work comprises several key elements: we research and develop policy statements and briefings on key issues in tobacco control; we pro-actively use the media to communicate our campaign aims and viewpoints; we form alliances and networks with key partners; and we also fund a range of projects that focus on tobacco awareness and smoking cessation in a variety of social groups.

• PATH - An initiative that aims to increase the number of people that successfully stop smoking and help reduce the smoking prevalence in Scotland, through work around smoking cessation training, data collection and monitoring within cessation services, funding of local scottish pilot projects and youth development.
• Inequalities - The Tobacco and Inequalities Project is a national community development project that focuses on tobacco and mental health, older adults and ethnicity.
• Buddy Project - A three-year pilot scheme, offered free 1 to 1 support to people who were stopping smoking
• STCA - A multi-sectoral body of more than 120 organisations concerned with the impact of tobacco on the people of Scotland
• SCOT / Scotland CAN! - Multi-partner alliances which work to raise awareness of tobacco-related disorders and to promote a smoke-free Scotland
• Youth Development - A recently created post which will focus attention on issues relating to young people and tobacco use.

ASH Scotland is committed to ensuring all aspects of its work and services are carried out to the highest possible standards and it regularly evaluates and monitors its work and services to ensure that this is the case.  ASH Scotland accepts that there may be occasions when these standards are not achieved and individuals/organisations may wish to raise their dissatisfaction with the organisation.
