Projects and Initiatives

ASH Scotland is a dynamic and responsive organisation: as well as carrying out research, creating policy documents and lobbying Government, we are also actively involved in various initiatives and project work which aims to roll out and enhance good practice for stop-smoking services across a range of areas.

In February 2010 we distilled the learning from projects we had funded and produced the downloadable 'Good practice guidance for pilot projects' (12 pages pdf, 522Kb).

For further information about each of the following areas, please either click on the relevant link below or select from the menu on the left:

  • PATH (Partnership Action on Tobacco and Health) is a joint initiative between ASH Scotland, NHS Health Scotland and the Scottish Government to reduce the prevalence of tobacco use in Scotland. We look to achieve this through work in various fields:
  • Stop-smoking training (also available via the tab at the top of the page)
  • Funded projects
  • Data collection and monitoring within cessation services
  • Youth development work

We also have a particular focus on Inequalities - the Tobacco & Inequalities Project is a national community development project, devoted to issues around tobacco and mental health, older adults and ethnicity.
