SCOT members agreed in November 2004 to prioritise action during the following 12-18 months around the aims of Scotland CAN! (Cleaner Air Now!) and to campaign for the introduction of legislation to end smoking in enclosed public places in Scotland, on the grounds of public health.
The Steering Group agreed to form a Scotland CAN! Communications Group to co-ordinate Scotland CAN!s communications strategy and activities. The Steering Group retains an overview of the overall strategy, aims and goals for the coalition as a whole and retains a wider brief for tobacco control issues.
