Norway

As of June 2004, smoking is prohibited in places where food/and or drink is served (including restaurants, cafes, clubs and pubs). Prior to this hospitality workers were the only group of workers in Norway not to have been covered by legislation. Exemptions are allowed, however, to set up special staff rooms intended for smoking. The Act No. 14 of 9 March 1973 relating to Prevention of the Harmful Effects of Tobacco with amendments is available at:
