Organisation: Fife Institute of Physical and Recreational Education (FIPRE), Fife Council Lead / Main Contact: Richard Brickley Duration: 2 years, 10 months (June 2003-March 2006)Target Group: Mental Health and Disability
Project Profile: The project attempted to establish ongoing smoking cessation courses that would extend the current programme of physical activity options to specifically target individuals with a physical, sensory or learning disability or a mental health problem. Students would be offered access to a health visitor and physical activity specialist within the Fife Sports Institute; upon completion, individuals would be offered the opportunity to continue their involvement in physical activity with or without support. The project did not manage to gain momentum, however, and was wound up early. No Executive Summary or Final Report were posted, as the project lead retired from his post.
