Links with Tobacco and Inequalities

ASH Scotland's PATH funded projects and the Tobacco and Inequalities (T&I) Community Development Initiative share many similarities with the aim of working towards the dissemination of best practice.

Crossovers are seen in:

the piloting of interventions
the targeting of 3 key priority groups - black and minority ethnic communities; older adults and mental health

Tobacco and Inequalities Work

A needs assessment was conducted to uncover the main issues and challenges surrounding the use of tobacco amongst the 3 groups and to identify priorities for action.
Literature reviews on tobacco and black and minority ethnic communities, older adults, mental health
Briefing papers on tobacco and black and minority ethnic communities, older adults, mental health
A Mapping Exercise and Directory of Services, Resources and Training for Ethnicity, Mental Health and Older Adults has been produced
25 community based pilot projects were funded to address many of the issues raised by the documents above with the key focus on developing sustainable partnerships within communities.
