Macedonia

Legislation banning smoking in public places came into force in Macedonia on 1st January 2006.  

The Macedonian government amended the Law on Tobacco and Tobacco Products and the Anti-smoking Law in March 2008.  Under the new regulations, smoking will only be permitted in bars and restaurants in designated smoking rooms, which cannot exceed 50% of an establishment’s total area.
