7 December 2006
Maureen Moore, Chief Executive of ASH Scotland today received her OBE, which was awarded in the Queens¿ birthday honours list earlier this year.
The award was for services to healthcare and follows Mrs Moore¿s career in campaigning for healthcare for people with HIV/AIDS, as well as her work for ASH Scotland.
Scotland went smoke-free in enclosed public places on March 26th 2006. It was the most radical piece of health legislation in a generation and has been a tremendous success. The legislation was a major achievement for ASH Scotland and Mrs Moore¿s leadership.
Maureen Moore, Chief Executive of ASH Scotland said,
¿I am delighted to have received this honour. I really feel that it is for the whole organisation. Everyone at ASH Scotland has worked so hard over the last few years, and I¿m so proud to have been part of the team that made such a change for the better in Scotland.¿
