Both organisations are delighted to support the first Crofton Award, which will recognise the contribution that young people in Scotland make to tackle the harm caused by tobacco use and smoking.
Smoking continues to kill 13,500 people in Scotland every year, and young people have long been a target for the tobacco industry in their desire to recruit new smokers to replace those who quit or die. However, many young people today work together to challenge the might of their industry, often achieving results other organisation cannot through their enthusiasm, commitment, and ability to relate to and communicate with their peers.
The Crofton Award will celebrate the contributions of young people who have worked to reduce tobacco consumption in Scotland. If you think that your organisation or project around tobacco use or smoking may be eligible for the award, please download more information and the application forms from the links below.
Eligibility: The Crofton Award is intended for any project involving young people and tobacco control in Scotland. Only groups, not individuals, may apply for the award. ‘Young people’ means under-25.
