Developing and delivering quality across ScotlandTraining

ASH Scotland's Training & Development (T&D) team is part of Partnership Action on Tobacco and Health (PATH), and has a broad remit to develop evidence-based tobacco-related training in Scotland. PATH is a partnership between ASH Scotland, Health Scotland and the Scottish Government.

The objectives of PATH's Training and Development remit are as follows:

  • to promote best practice through evidence-based training
  • to increase the quality and consistency of tobacco training in Scotland
  • to broaden the range and scope of tobacco-related training, in order to increase the number of people trained in tobacco issues
  • to ensure that everyone who needs tobacco-related training has equal opportunity to access it
  • to enhance the professional standing of the smoking cessation specialism, through developing validation and accreditation systems

The T&D team have developed two academically accredited stop-smoking support modules, and a range of new training packages. Please click on the relevant links to the right of this page for more information about these and other developments.
