Cessation support for users of mental health services

Over the past few months, the PATH T&D Team have gathered information from services across the country regarding how the Smoke-free mental health services in Scotland implementation guidance is being progressed at local level. This feedback resulted in the following developments:

Raising the issue of smoking with mental health service users

This pack has gone through a rigorous update and now includes information on the Smoke-free mental health services in Scotland implementation guidance. The pack is now complete and available on the Health Scotland Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Please contact the T&D Administrator if you experience any problems accessing the material.

CPD event: Delivering stop-smoking support within mental health settings

This event will take place on the 7th December 2011. The aim of the day is to support advisors in their role of providing quit support to clients, either in-patients or those referred through mental health services.
