Raising the issue of smoking

 

The training materials for the Raising the issue of smoking training are free of charge and are designed for use by staff at a local level.  We updated the training material in July 2010 to align with 'A Guide to Smoking Cessation in Scotland' which was launched by NHS Health Scotland in September 2010 and copies of the new guide can be found on the using the following link. http://www.healthscotland.com/documents/4661.aspx

The training materials are available for download on the NHS Health Scotland Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) website and instructions on how to download the latest trainers rescources are available here.

Please note: there are specific trainer requirements which a trainer must have in order to deliver this training.  Eligible trainers who can use this pack are:

  • specialist stop-smoking staff with a remit for training
  • specialist stop-smoking midwives with a remit for training

Both of the above may be employed by the NHS or sectors which are funded by statutory bodies (e.g. local authorities) or the voluntary sector.  If you do not meet these requirements, please contact a member of the PATH Training & Development Team for further advice on 0131 220 9959.
