The training materials for Raising the issue of smoking with mental health service users are free of charge and are designed for use by staff at a local level. We updated the training material in July 2011 to incorporate information from the ‘Smoke-free mental health services in Scotland implementation guidance’, copies of this guidance can be found using the following link

The training materials are available for download on the NHS Health Scotland Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) website and instructions on how to download the latest trainers’ resources are available to download below

Please note: although we recommend co-delivery, the pack can be delivered locally by either stop-smoking or mental health practitioners with experience of delivering training. It is also possible for PATH trainers to deliver, or co-deliver, the RIS courses where there is a lack of capacity to do this locally. If you think this would be of help to your Board, please contact us to discuss what we can do for you.
