All three Raising the Issue of Smoking (RIS) courses are designed to be delivered by locally-based NHS trainers. Please see the specific pages for each course for details of how to apply to become a registered trainer for these courses.
PATH Training & Development Team can offer support to local trainers in a variety of ways and are always happy to be contacted with questions or feedback.
A formal one-day ‘Training for Trainers of RIS courses’ is available for new trainers as demand dictates. Please contact us to go on the waiting list and we will be in touch when the next course is scheduled.
We are more than happy to meet on-site with trainers, both new and experienced, to discuss the packs and provide one-to-one support if this would be helpful.
From time to time, we also provide CPD opportunities for RIS trainers through workshop sessions; as a registered trainer, you will receive e-mail invites to these events as and when they occur.
It is also possible for PATH trainers to deliver, or co-deliver, the RIS courses where there is a lack of capacity to do this locally. If you think this would be of help to your Board, please contact us to discuss what we can do for you.Last updated 21 June 2011.
