Taking action on smoking and health
The Scottish Tobacco-free Alliance is Scotland's forum for information exchange, discussion and collaboration on all aspects of smoking and its impacts on health and inequality. The STA gives all those working with tobacco related issues a voice to influence the development of policy and practice across Scotland.
•circulate a regular bulletin of news, updates and developments
•arrange meetings, conferences and seminars devised by the membership
•organise fora to discuss policy and good practice in health promotion, health care and tobacco control.
STA activity has been curtailed during the Covid restrictions, due to the inability to meet physically, but also because many STA members have been transferred to other roles supporting the Covid response. Full activity will resume when we are able to do so, and for an insight into the type of activity carried out by the STA please refer to a recent STA Annual Review (pdf 5.4Mb)
In the meantime, joining the STA is free and open to anyone who shares our goal of a tobacco-free Scotland. Apply online to become a member of the Scottish Tobacco-free Alliance, or contact the ASH Scotland office with any STA enquiries.
