Taking action on smoking and health
The May 2021 parliamentary election in Scotland brings about a real opportunity for the next Scottish Government to up its game on tobacco control. We need to urgently tackle the causes of health inequalities, including tobacco harms, protect children and young people from tobacco use and rid the environment of plastic cigarette filters.
These are the overarching themes in our manifesto paper for the Scottish election. Here is a link to that paper: ASH Scotland 2021 Manifesto
Tackling inequality is key to creating a tobacco-free Scotland.
The next Scottish Government should:
Future proof children and young people from tobacco use and tobacco industry manipulation.
Protect our environment from pointless plastic pollution.
