Taking action on smoking and health
ASH Scotland has developed a blended training course which is partly eLearning, followed by a live online session. The aim is to help those who work with young carers and their families to understand more about how children and young people are affected by smoking.
Supported by Carers Trust Scotland and Scottish Young Carers Services Alliance this online course explores ways to:
Who is it for? The training is for anyone who works with young carers and their families including: family support workers, befrienders, home/school link workers and young carers’ service staff from both voluntary and local authority organisations.
How long does it take? The course consists of an eLearning module (approx 1 hour) and a live online session via zoom (1 hour).
How much does it cost? It's free for anyone who works with young carers and/or their families.
Has it been tried and tested?
1. eLearning module
The first part of the course is an eLearning module on ASH Scotland eLearning website. Create a free account, select the course ‘Young carers, smoking and second-hand smoke’ and work through the module at your own pace.

2. Online session
Once you have completed the eLearning module we look forward to welcoming you to the practical one hour online session via Zoom.
We have two upcoming dates: choose between 23rd November or 14th December 2022 and register through Eventbrite.
If you would like to organise a session exclusively for your staff and volunteer team (minimum 5 participants) we may be able to offer you a bespoke session.
